Wellington Water are seeking community input on the proposed Community Engagement Framework on stormwater and wastewater discharge. They are applying for a global stormwater discharge consent (‘the stormwater consent’) and for wet weather overflow discharge consents from the three wastewater networks, Wellington (including Karori), Porirua (including north Wellington) and Hutt (‘the wet weather overflow discharge consents’).

This will include stormwater discharges from catchments near the airport and the airport itself into Lyall Bay and Evans Bay.

They are running four community engagement sessions:

• Thursday 21 September 12 midday – 1.30 pm (zoom meeting)
• Tuesday 26 September 7 – 8.30 pm (zoom meeting)
• Tuesday 24 October 5.30 – 7 pm (in person meeting, central Wellington)
• Thursday 26 October 7 – 8.30 pm (zoom meeting)
