It’s time to get your community and environment applications into the WLG Community and Environment Fund. 

Our hard work on the airport designations back in 2022 is why this fund has happened.. This fund was created due to Environment Court mediation between Wellington Airport, Guardians of the Bays, Strathmore Park Resident’s Association, and other community members.

Wellington Airport provides funding to the Trust which is managed by 3 Trustees who administer the Community & Environment Fund.

The Trustees administer the Fund for the benefit of the local community near the airport within Motukairangi/Eastern Ward for the purpose of education, promotion, and advancement of the community, mitigation of any adverse effects associated with the operation of the airport, and environmental interests. Wellington International Airport will contribute $75,000 per annum in 2023 and 2024.
